Monterey Event Calendar for Sept. 2013

Monterey Events Sept. 2013

Sept 1-3

Monterey Greek Festival at the Custom House Plaza. Be Greek on Labor Day Weekend Food Dancing and Live Music all with a Greek Flair a really great event.

Sept. 7

Wine Art and Music Walk Take a walking tour of Pacific Groves best art venues with some like minded people this is a good event to discover some of those hidden away gems that you haven't seen before.

Sept. 7-9

The Triathlon At Pacific Grove This is one of my favorite events for the whole year. I am involved in a lot of triathlons and this is my hometown event and it's really great to swim off your home beach and have all the people you grew up with watching along the course. I recommend this triathlon for experienced athletes and beginners.

Sept. 12-16

Cherries Jubilee Motorsport Festival This is a great car event every year. There will be separate events going on at the wharf waterfront parking lot in Old Monterey, Oldtown Salinas, Cannery Row and Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca. There truly is something here for everyone. So if it's sports cars you love they have it or if it's classics they have it. This is a great event. This is more the every man's car show compared to the auctions last month where you go to see what a million dollars will buy you.

Sept. 21-23

Annual Monterey Jazz Festival Monterey County Fairgrounds there will be more than 500 artists performing at this years jazz festival on eight different stages.

Sept. 22-23

California International Airshow Salinas The Air Force Thunderbirds will be headlining at the Salinas Airshow this year. This is nice yearly event that is all run by volunteers and if you truly love the airshow I encourage you to volunteer your time some year to the airshow or to some other worthwhile cause that you love.

Sept 28-30

Carmel Authors and Ideas Festival This event is an event that you go to not expecting what you will see there or who you might talk to or how they may affect you. You go there and speak to people like Sully Sullenberger, Dr. Nancy Snyderman, and other New York Times best selling authors and Pulitzer prize winner and Nobel prize winners. So this is an event that I love give it a try. One thing that is great is that schoolkids usually go on Friday before the weekend and get a sneak peak and come home with all kinds of interesting stories.
